@wlaatje There's a bit of a god complex going on if you think the fairer comparison for your technology is with the total of biological evolution.
I am sure the comparison makes sense to understand *why* the initial energy costs are so high, but that's not the issue now, is it? The issue is that these companies are pumping Joules and nobody's sure why this is supposed to be a good thing, actually.
@vtijms It seems like he calls the comparison unfair… not because he believes AI deserves a more human (loving, attentive) approach, but because the opposite dystopian logic seems to be taking place: he appears to think that we humans should be treated and evaluated the same way we treat machines.
I would love that we treated tech with the passion of humanity.. but that is not his concern!
