Oh #Canada 🇨🇦! You need to build a pipeline from #Alberta to the east!

👉🏾 Here’s Why Canada 🇨🇦 Can’t Build Its Own Refineries, Even Though It Produces Millions Of Tons of Oil https://youtu.be/IqnVaXaBKvU

Pipelines to the west are making money (with #China 🇨🇳, #Singapore 🇸🇬 & potentially #Japan 🇯🇵 as major customers), but without a major east pipeline (plus upgraded refineries), Canada 🇨🇦 will continue to import fuel from #SaudiArabia 🇸🇦 & #Nigeria 🇳🇬 at premium prices.

@darnell

Q1 How hot do you want the planet to get?
1) 1.5C?
2) 4C
3) 60C
4) 145C?

Q2 Libertarianism is about open and free capitalism. Why are you advocating for a dying industry that is losing out against a cheaper more efficient one? Even Saudia Arabia is building solar like crazy.

Q3 Have you asked why pipeline companies don't want to invest in building more pipelines?

Q4 Have you asked land owners and First Nations why they don't want pipelines on their land?

@ScribblersEmporium Reality check: Solar & wind energy are awesome, but they can not always meet peak demand: https://www.cesa.org/reducing-peak-demand-lessons-from-state-energy-storage-programs/

Canada 🇨🇦 needs to establish economic independence from the United States 🇺🇸, & for better or worse Alberta is key towards that end (at least within the short term).

Energy wise Canada 🇨🇦 can not completely replace their transportation network away from oil & gas until 2040 at the earliest: https://natural-resources.canada.ca/energy-efficiency/transportation-energy-efficiency/resource-library/electric-vehicle-charging-infrastructure-canada

So yeah, expanding the pipeline is still critical.

Reducing Peak Demand: Lessons from State Energy Storage Programs - Clean Energy States Alliance

States are increasingly adopting clean energy plans and climate goals, meaning our electric grids are more frequently fueled by variable renewables like solar PV and wind energy. While renewables are inexpensive and clean, they are not dispatchable without energy storage – in other words, they may not generate power at the right times to meet…

@darnell

Respectfully
1 disagree
2 partly agree
3 irrelevant argument, no one is going to stop the transportation systems' use of oil. It is now simply cheaper to use electricity. Capitalism.
