Into The Blue

We were following the coast road from Westfjords to the north-western region of Iceland, and we had a lovely day for it.

The dirt road was steep and with flimsy barriers, but we were in no rush.

Looking across Húnaflói, bounded by Icelandic coastline on three sides and open to the Denmark Strait to the north. In the distance is Skagaströnd on the western coast of Skagi peninsular

"Slysasvæði" means "Accident site"

A colour photo of a dirt road down to a large body of water. In the distance is the hazy outline of another coastline, dappled by sunlight. The sky is clear with fluffy cloud, a day of showers and sunshine. The water surface is rippled but quite still. The foreground road has gravelly banks on either side and a road sign warning of danger.
