please "in the hospitable like a vegetable" clip audio please #monsterdon
nice cool great use of time now we know this kids soul is in the dummy and no time for the dummy to go hogwild and kill his father #monsterdon
"your wife never suffered any traumatic shocks"
"maybe she did, i don't know, how should i know i'm just her husband"
#monsterdon
stop talking about whether the dummy has this kids soul in it and get on with breaking into the goddamn house and breaking the goddamn dummy out #monsterdon
who even is this magic doctor anyway, why are you listening to him he just keeps saying "sometims magic breaks your wife's mind what can you do about it" #monsterdon
usually masculine paranoia is a scourge but i admit i would find it awfully fishy if my wife told me she was running away with a hypnotist #monsterdon
I come back to the movie for a moment to discover that the husband has just totally accepted it as normal that his wife is running away with the hypnotist and is just moving on with his life???? or did i mistake what happened in that scene i half watched #monsterdon
"OK fine i guess" #monsterdon
So uh the dummy just uh popped that other doll (?)'s head and then was able to mind swap with the hypnotist because uh... .. and then the entire plot with the wife just sort of evaporated and was... unrelated... #monsterdon
ok i'm watching back and the last 5 minutes are just a trainwreck. they spent most of the movie on the marianne subplot and they literally wrapped it up with three scenes:
- marianne says "whelp i'm running off with the hypnotist" and the husband says literally nothing
- husband just sort of accepts that as being fine despite spending the whole movie investigating the hypnotist and his supernatural abilities to control peoples minds with "dang i can't believe my wife fell in love with that hypnotist, oh well"
- the husband appears with no explanation in the hypnotist's den immediately after the dummy has mind swapped with him and problem solved marianne is fine
@jonny Was he Marianne’s husband? I didn’t get that impression at all. Maybe I missed something.
@moira @ramsey oh well, idk he behaved like a 1964 husband consistently throughout the movie. very strange "1964 male friend that you make out with but is just fwb and cares about your well being" #monsterdon
@moira @ramsey he goes "the only woman i ever cared about falls in love with (the hypnotist)" so if not married, implied love interest #monsterdon
