@pachli
I've been using #pachli as Mastodon app for quite a while now, and everything works fine so far (even UP notifications!). But there is still one question:
What is the difference between "refresh" and "load newest posts" in the timeline menu?
And which of both will happen, if I just wipe downwards in the timeline?
@hmz "Refresh" / swipe-down fetches new posts based on your position in the feed and keeps your reading position. Use this if you want to read everything, in order.
"Load newest posts" ignores your reading position, gets the newest posts from your server, and scrolls close to the top of those posts. Use this if you don't mind missing stuff, e.g. it's been a few days and you don't want to read everything you missed.
@nick That's unexpected. Can you open About, then the Database tab, and send a screenshot of what you see. I've got a hunch...
I often see the horizontal bar and the circles, so that i need to wait for #Pachli.
Experienced this both on #Mastodon and #Mammuthus instances. And yes, regarding Mammuthus it is always possible, that this behaviour is caused by my software... 😉
(That's why i didn't reported this yet officially...)
@liz Any feedback while you're trying it out would be very helpful, thanks.
