It would be intriguing to see the Gemmabot experiment repeated with current technology, which can definitely simulate human speech and facial movements much more convincingly than anything available in 2016. An entirely digital 'GemmaAI' could probably fool most entertainment writers, and probably most of the tech press too. But I don't think we're any closer to a robot clone that could fool anyone in person
