I spent siesta time in San José Lachiguiri. These cisterns with faucets are very convenient for bikepackers. But I think they also mean much of the town lacks indoor plumbing.

I spent siesta time in San José Lachiguiri. These cisterns with faucets are very convenient for bikepackers. But I think they also mean much of the town lacks indoor plumbing.
They seem to have taken things into their own hands though, and installed an above ground water system with pipes and faucets in the streets. Many have hoses attached that run into the homes.

I camped a little bit above town at 1865m and it was nippy!
Somehow this route has felt much more isolated than I expected. Maybe 10-20 cars a day pass me on the roads. And yet here I am with two bars of 4G in the tent.
