@strypey Shit, since Nixon left the Gold Standard the Federal budget is precipitated on the Dollar having a monopoly as an oil trading currency.

True. But I'm guessing the vast majority of US foreign spending is on oil and coal, because their domestic extraction doesn't come anywhere near covering what they use. So replacing fossil fuels would allow them to survive the end of the petrodollar, which is most likely going to happen anyway.
