I don't disagree but I would add that the problem goes deeper than Tim Cook's disgusting behavior. At least his conduct is out in the open. There's a lot going on with Apple that should have users questioning their continued use of its products. But let's be honest, it's not just Apple. All of US-based big tech is making user hostile decisions.

#BigTech has been enjoying a free ride for decades because their shiny gadgets have so many enraptured. It's past the time to take a hard look at that.

@dennyhenke I absolutely agree that we need to crack down on the excesses and behavior of BigTech. The move fast and break things then ask for forgiveness later garbage was always wrong and should have been stopped long ago. Silicon Valley has changed since I got involved with it quite a while ago, so much so, that I no longer want anything to do with Silicon Valley and big tech, in general, work wise.

Hopefully, the EU and Canada can lead the way to viable open source alternatives to Microsoft, Facebook, social media and the like. I鈥檇 like to see the US and state governments drop MS for #LibreOffice, for example. That move would make it easier for a wider public shift.

I have to say that I鈥檓 a big Apple products fan. That鈥檚 why I鈥檓 so disappointed with Tim Cook. Maybe there are other things going on within Apple as you say of which I鈥檓 not aware. That would not be good either.

@dennyhenke cursorily related: I watched a good friend react in real time to her iPhone updating to whatever version of iOS includes liquid glass at lunch yesterday. She happens to be a designer, and a long-time Apple user.

I have never seen her face so squished, confused, and disappointed.

(And I totally agree with you about the unfathomably deep problems with big tech. And I find it so bizarre when people somehow think Apple somehow exists outside of those problems.)
