I know this is a personal preference, but I think fediverse has a much better "branding" than the Atmosphere.
(That's what Bluesky is part of, like Mastodon being part of the fediverse.)
Yeah, "fediverse" may sound too geeky now, but not really different from "internet". And you can just say "fedi".
Some people seem to prefer to use "ATProto", which is the protocol powering the Atmosphere, but that just makes "fediverse" sound like a cool slang term in comparison. And what if there are more protocols in the future?
And some spell it as "ATmosphere" in reference to the protocol, which, yeah.
And what about those usernames?
Again, personal preference, but "@ Who @ Where" just makes sense to me. As opposed to "@ my website".
I have several websites, I put my work on them, but none of them are *me*. ATProto-style handles may work for organizations, but the mental model just doesn't fit for me.

Each one was considered and helped us look at the project from different angles. Even if it wasn't picked, it still shaped the app. Because open-source is not just about code - it's about community 💜
