@ermo I mean I liked the speech, but leaning on a pretty heavily anti-labor stance didn't feel great to me. I get what he was trying to say, and that he's basically speaking In Capitalist Land and all that, but ehh
@ermo (I'm referring to the story about people taking down the "workers of the world unite" signs)
@zkat I got the impression that this was about being honest about the fact that the Stalinist regimes were not about the workers at that point, but about suppressing dissent and threatening people into subservience by having them prove their loyalty by participating in a shared lie about the state of the world in which they lived.
When you look at how the GOP had Senators willing to impeach DJT, but who then reneged on that after receiving death threats, this makes all the more sense IMNSHO.
