That was some good #birding! We finally, FINALLY, saw a red-breasted nuthatch 💜💜 not even common in Ottawa right now, but there were multiple of them!
I was feeding chickadees and a white-breasted nuthatch landed on my hand 🥹 first time that has even happened!
(Note: I would never hand feed birds that are not already fully acclimated to humans)
We also saw hairy woodpeckers, and a mourning dove!
@stephanie congrats!! Red-breasted nuthatches are so adorable. There's more of them around this year, a bunch came down with the finches from the boreal forests due to lack of food.
