Ok, this is amazing.

French-Algerian guitarist Pierre Bensusan is playing in my home town, in the church I grew up in.

The church’s sanctuary is a half-round space (a lot like the Ryman Auditorium, actually) and a few years ago was retrofitted to serve as a performance space in addition to Sunday services.

I gave up religion a long time ago but I’ll definitely be attending this particular “service”.

If you’re in #Ottawa or eastern Ontario, more details are on the church’s Events page. Just scroll down a bit.

Does anyone know a place in central #Ottawa that does small appliance repair? Like, a fan, not a fridge.

Ironman weekend was disruptive for us. We had to pet sit our daughter's animals Saturday and Sunday except she lives in Gatineau. We took the bus on Sunday but what a horror show getting across any bridge would have been otherwise. On the plus side we saw the cyclists on the Kichi Zibi Mikan Sunday morning holding up our bus and saw the runners on the driveway on our way home on the bus.

The air quality report says it’s fine outside, but my neighbourhood reeks like a campfire where someone tossed in plastic.

It's interesting to me that all of the signs, displays, warnings, posters etc. in this building at uOttawa are written in French first and English second, as opposed to the other way around with everywhere else I've seen in Ontario. Wikipedia says the university is officially bilingual, I'm curious what the language distribution is amongst the students here #Ottawa#Ontario#BSDCan

The accessible garden is turned over, composted, raked, staked, and ready for May!

#Ottawa #gardening #zone5

Several wood-framed garden beds. They're mostly empty, but there's garlic growing out of the near one and onions growing out of a long frame at the back. Tall stakes are in place for tomatoes, and cages are in place for peppers and eggplants.
