My personal view is that it all went wrong
for Starmer when he couldn't bring himself
to say that cutting off power and water to
Gaza wasn't OK. He lost his credibility as
a humanitarian and a human rights lawyer.
He knew the answer. He couldn't say so.
That was his moment.

He could have done so whilst supporting
Israel's right to defend itself, and whilst
maintaining his position as an ally. It wasn't
impossible. It required a bit of courage and a
bit of skill. In that moment he had neither. It
set a tone.
