I certainly hope the EU can put the same sanctions on the US for attacking Venezuela as they did on Russia for attacking Ukraine. This is indefensible.
Post
@Gargron Евгений, а ты правда понимаешь по-русски?
@Gargron This is an #invasion of another #sovereign country by #MAGAmerica which falls foul of #international #law. Unconscionable, no matter how bad the Venezuelan government is. #UN and #EU sanctions definitely called for.
#tRump the international #criminal. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@Gargron Won’t happen considering the EU never recognized the Maduro government.
@Gargron yeah! Our Europe is well known for being brave and the Human Rights Mecca!
First Russia, then Israel, and now U.S.A.
for sure 😞
@Gargron won't happen when this is what the High Representative posted
https://bsky.app/profile/kajakallas.bsky.social/post/3mbjb57n5uc2y
@Gargron we are to weak to oppose the US. But we should be preparing for the eventuality that the Americans could one day pull the same shit with Greenland.
@Gargron Agreed and deserved. #fucktrump
@Gargron Always carefully check the skin colour / popularity of the people targeted.
@Gargron They didn't do it when the US and Israel attacked Iran, so they won't do it here either.
@Gargron You do realize that Russia is bombing Ukrainian cities for almost 4 years since large-scale war started and many years before, do you? I’m not saying there shouldn’t be consequences for US for what they did. I’m just saying that comparison is ridiculous and gives nothing but few more excuses for Russian propaganda to continue doing what they’ve been doing
@alex How is what I said giving any excuses for Russian propaganda?
@Gargron not your words per se, the fact that things are compared and looked at as they are they same
I hope I didn’t offend you. My point is that these things are not equal. However, they both are horrible and require prosecution
Fuck Putin. Fuck Trump. Fuck dictatorship and falsification. Fuck war
@alex Russia's invasion of Ukraine also started with a supposed "military operation". It is the same playbook. Do you want me to wait until more Venezuelans are dead before condemning the act of international aggression?
@Gargron what in my response made you think so? I’m just saying that comparison of two things is wrong
Nobody should die because of someone’s political or economic benefit. All the inter-state interventions and military operations must stop and never happen again
People lives matter the most
@Gargron 2026 - and the shitshow just continues.
@Gargron all it takes is to nit buy US products... Avoid big companies like coca-cola, mcdonalds, meta, microsoft, google and voila!
@Gargron
Sanctions? For what? For not arresting him for so long?
@koteisaev The US has no authority to "arrest" someone on foreign soil. The word you're looking for is "kidnapping".
@Gargron This is Trump playing big-boy dictator. He thinks this makes him look strong to his daddy, Putin, but he just looks pathetic and he’s only ultimately helping China. The freefall of America is in full swing now. Former allies will be trampling each other to form tighter relationships with China. Who knew making America great would be such a boon for China?? (everyone did)
@Gargron The Venezuelan government called it an “imperialist attack” and urged citizens to take to the streets.
@Gargron This is what the latest Nobel Peace Price wanted. I think the Scandinavian committee should be pleased
@Martin_de_Zavala @Gargron
Had to look it up, but indeed, María Corina Machado, the 2025 Nobel Peace Price winner, did suport US strikes on Venezuela.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mar%C3%ADa_Corina_Machado#Foreign_policy
@Martin_de_Zavala Because they didn't give Trump the Nobel Peace Prize they are responsible for him starting a war?
@Gargron @Martin_de_Zavala
The winner of the 2025 nobel peace price supported the US strikes on Venezuela.
@Gargron She openly dedicated the award to Trump and supported invasion, nothing hidden there
@Martin_de_Zavala Oh, you're talking about the person who received the most recent Nobel Peace Prize. You should be more clear in your writing.
@Gargron Sorry, yes I made a mistake. It's the Nobel War Prize
@Martin_de_Zavala Again, that is the name of the award. Awards typically don't have needs and wants as they are not sentient. You're referring to the laureate.
@Gargron The EU are America's vassals. USA controls the currency you trade in and control cyber. USA just sanctioned ICC judges for making an unfavorable ruling and functionally deleted them from modern life. EU needs independence from USA before they can take serious political action.
@Gargron Europe consumes ~5x more oil than it produces.
We have voted for the growth that has led us here: https://mastodon.social/@urlyman/115717152261231548 So politicians will follow that course.
Every European that wants to be less tied to US hegemony should do everything in their power to reduce their personal resource footprint and to vote at every opportunity for degrowth
@urlyman migrate the energy footprint.
Using more efficient machinery and energy sources will then reduce the total amount.
@Gargron Europe will be as complicit in this as they are in genocide.
@Gargron fuck, I’m not usually someone who tries to avoid paying taxes (I believe it’s a required part of living in society), but man I really want to figure out how to not have to pay my US taxes this year (I live in France now) so that my money doesn’t keep going to funding shit like this.
@Gargron I'm the last person to approve current actions of the US administration, but deeply disappointed with such a rage-bait take.
It is inhumane to compare suffering of millions of Ukrainians protecting their democratic country, with millions dead or injured, and tens of millions displaced, that endures everyday bombardment of critical infrastructure in the middle of the winter with targeted attack on military objects by US in Venezuela, a country that was already under EU sanction list
Sanctions were placed on Russian oligarchs in the wake of the war in Ukraine.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-01-03/trump-says-venezuela-s-maduro-captured-and-flown-out-of-country-mjy3kziv
Place sanctions on American oligarchs.
Paul Singer won the Citgo lawsuit. It's not the 1st time this vulture capitalist seized ships & bankrupted a nation.

He's Trump's 7th largest donor. Elliott Management is the 9th largest corporate donor to the GOP.

@Gargron Venezuela was selling resources to other regimes, and Venezuela drug's leader Maduro was on capture list
@Gargron There a little trick there: It's not a war against Venezuela, it's the war against drugs. They only shoot drugs, not people.
@Gargron best they can do is silence.
@Gargron it's ignored Israel so I don't see why it would be any different.
@Gargron America is HUGE I MEAN FUCK HUGEST TROUBLE MOFO!
@Gargron as usual the Europe is not the problem, always all the problems came from Russia and USA.
@Gargron Also, with this coming so soon after those two criminals met, I'm wondering if Netanyahu is going to simultaneously start something in West Asia.
@Gargron As well as deploying anti air/missile/drone defences to Greenland and Canada. As well as prepping ground forces to follow.
@Gargron Sanctions do not achieve desired results.
Having said that, the day the EU becomes strong enough to do this is the day they will have achieved real freedom and independence. The current EU leaders won't do this, because they are lapdogs for America. EU may vocally complain about US action, but they still ultimately serve US interests.
