You know what the most prestigious place you can hang your art is?

Where people will see it.

Just got my show hung up at the Berkeley Iron Works climbing gym. I am artist of the month through January! Not what most people think of as an art exhibition venue, but a lot of people will see my pictures and get to enjoy them, which is what matters.

The only downside is that you have to be a member, or buy a day pass, or come in with a member on a free "bystander pass". Iron Works is part of a network of gyms that share membership, so if you are a member of another gym, your membership may cover it.

I'll be doing a reception sometime next week, time TBA.

Looking at a gym from a slightly elevated vantage point on a staircase. On the lower level, on the right there is a row of workout machines. The upper level has stationary bicycles and treadmills. Stretching down the middle of the 40 foot, white painted wall between the two levels is a line of bright photographs hung in a row from one end to the other. All of the photos depict storms and lightning bolts.
