Hello friends in Scotland 馃憢
I have a lot of children鈥檚 books and clothes (used but in excellent condition) that I was planning to donate to a charity shop. Before I do, I wondered if there鈥檚 anywhere locally (I'm in Perthshire) that would pass items directly to families who might need them for free - community groups, mutual aid networks, schools, or similar?
I鈥檇 much rather they went straight to someone who could use them.
Any suggestions welcome, thank you!

I have been affiliated with a group that partnered with a specific elementary school. There were kids there that didn't even have a winter coat. The teachers were having to buy snacks out of their own pockets, because some of the students were too hungry to learn.
I wish more community organizations would do this. The teachers already know which kids need help, and how to get them what they need without their classmates knowing.
@kristiedegaris @otfrom I鈥檓 a huge fan of Togs for Tots, which runs in Dundee. All my kid鈥檚 stuff goes there. They work on referrals and are really selective and thoughtful.

I don't know about where you are, but around me we have nonprofit children's health agencies that have ancillary services where those items would be very much accepted and passed along to those in need.
@kristiedegaris the local food bank might be able to give you some pointers.
If council allows ... setting up a free stall out the front of your house would attract attention ...
