Yesterday, #Hiking in the #Mountains at approx. 2,000 m, with 1,600 m EG. In #Vienna, it was foggy and cold, but on the #Rax, there was a bright blue sky with no wind and temperatures between 8 and 12°C. Not a soul in sight, wonderful silence. At the #Habsburghaus, it was so overwhelmingly beautiful that it took the greatest willpower to leave at all. Descent in the dark, on a steep snowy and icy path. With good crampons, of course.
View from a snow-covered path back to the Habsburghaus mountain hut. The sunset bathes it and the surrounding rocks in reddish light. In the distance, bluish fog lies over the valley, above which the haze shows a color gradient from reddish to yellowish and to the light blue of the evening sky.
On the left side of the picture is the western edge of the Rax. There is a direct connection to the neighboring Schneealpe via a ridge. Blue sky.
View down onto a snow-covered hill. On top of it stands a large mountain hut, the Habsburghaus. In the background is the neighboring mountain, the Schneealpe. In the distance are many more Alpine peaks. Blue sky.
Snowshoe tracks on a snow-covered mountain plateau. In the background, the neighboring mountain, Schneealpe. Bright blue sky.
