@woozle Poland's other percentages add to 99%, which means that the bottom 50%'s share at least rounds up to 1%. In the US, the other numbers add to 100%, which means the bottom half of the population has a share so small that it rounds *down* to zero. The US is actually the worst in the entire world on this, though Poland comes close.

Half of the population of the US makes, all counted together, less than half a percent of the total income in the country. 50% of the people get less than 0.5% of the income.

I keep repeating it, trying to grasp just how extremely fucked up this place is, and I just can't wrap my head around it. It's absolutely mind boggling!
