This blew my mind: Today I learned that planet Earth has a sea slug which can do photosynthesis like plants do.

The coolest part: It looks like a wood snail and a kale leaf had a baby.

What really happened is the wood snail's ancestor ate the kale and then retreated to the ocean when things got rough. 😉

@randahl That's really interesting. And it's not a symbiosis, the sea slug actually removes the chloroplasts from the algae it eats, and incorporates them into its body instead of digesting them, a process called kleptoplasty. https://bio4climate.org/featured-creature/featured-creature-eastern-emerald-elysia/
