How did the ICO treat the most serious data breach in UK history? They did nothing.

The failure to investigate the Ministry of Defence for leaking data on over 19,000 Afghans is the final straw for this weak regulator.

ORG has led the call for an inquiry ⬇️

@openrightsgroup

All regulators are weak, as they are government appointed and government controlled. The same government that gives them not enough of a mandate. And therefore they can't / don't act in the public interest.

As long as they are not fully independent, nothing will change,

@openrightsgroup having personally interacted with the ICO in relation to the GDPR, I can confirm that they are absolutely useless, slow and likely unfit for purpose
