Hmmm. I have done a lot of winter camping (and in snow, subzero conditions), and I'm going to say "reading an article about winter camping" is not sufficient to prepare you for actual winter camping.

I'd put this in the category of "go with people who have winter camped before" and/or "take a class on winter camping", at least in the case of snow and/or (worse) cold weather with possibility of rain. I have done this a LOT and avoiding hypothermia and dangerous conditions is substantially harder in winter vs. other seasons.

LOL one year I went camping with my Prius... which nearly was the end of the Prius. (didn't start... the wind was so strong it had pulled that box off the top of the car and slammed it hard onto the hood. I duct taped the box back on the car... rolled the car down the hill until the regen braking juiced up the battery enough to warm things up... sold the car soon after that as it really stressed out the battery, LOL. Great commuter car... not a great outdoors car).

Prius loaded with a cargo container, unwisely.
