Dear Alice,
Intentional or not, you’ve been a catalyst for so many good things in my life.
To mention just a few: you put the Gender Dysphoria Bible in front of me at the exact right time for me to hatch. You lured me into setting up my own Matrix instance for flirting, and I subsequently invited [redacted]—hundreds of thousands of words followed. You somehow surfaced my toppy aspect to a degree I never knew I had ([redacted] says “thank you 💜,” by the way).
I know you’ve asked nothing in return for all the good you’ve done for me, but we can’t only pay things forward. You deserve good things too!
So here’s my small gift to you: a lock puzzle box, made with love.
The left lock was a bit of a disappointment—the photo of the keys suggested it had three rows of pins, but alas, it’s only one. I expect it’ll present little challenge beyond finding a suitable tensioning tool.
The rightmost lock is hopefully a bit more fun for you. And the middle one is something I dreamed up for you. It should take you a hot second longer than a Master lock to figure out. I didn’t have enough time to work out how to cast it in metal, so please be a bit gentle with it lest you make your task far harder. It should take more brain than brawn anyway (I say, having never picked a lock in my life). I’d love to hear your musings as you puzzle it out—I’m hoping you’ll have some fun with it. I had a fun, if somewhat stressful, time making it for you.
The lid is spring-loaded and will pop open once all three locks are released. You shouldn’t need to put any extra tension on the lid while working on the custom lock, in theory.
I know you said you wouldn’t need keys, but in the interest of making sure [redacted] can open it on demand for airport security if necessary—as well as playing it fair and square—keys are included separately. [redacted] says if you use them before you’ve opened the box once without them, I win. I gave the keys separate compartments labeled by the keyhole shape so you don’t have to spoil all three if you just want one.
