🆕 blog! “Now witness the power of this fully operational Fediverse!”

How can you measure the popularity of a social network site? Perhaps by counting the number of active accounts, or the quality of the discourse, or even how many people reply to your witty memes.

Me? I prefer to look at how many people visit my blog…

@Edent I love this post. On the one hand, it shows -with research- that our fediverse is possibly the most vibrant and 'alive' social network out there. Real people are consuming and interacting, where -for example- twitter is basically pumped up artificial usercounts and 'bots talking to each other'
On the other hand a reminder that fair and credible alternative competing networks are a good thing. A winner takes all attidude will always fail.

@Edent What is interesting about this measurement tactic is that you are measuring not your "reach", but your "true reach, when you engage in something you might care about". Within a number of caviots.
