Done with therapy.

Spent our last session talking about “am I being a cultist” with my new found Buddhism obsession. (Therapist says no). I had to go there because of my life long habit of “wanting structure but also wanna stick it to the man”. My mind is good at gymnastics #therapy #MentalHealth #personal

@farah If that is a genuine concern, this is a really good tool for helping to make that determination:

@farah
Cult? Please. If one is going to become obsessed with a belief system, Buddhism feels like the safest option.

I'm sure you're fine.

@farah As long as you are not selling all your goods to buy someone else a Rolls Royce, you are not in a cult.

@farah The Buddha was born rich and eventually decided "Fuck it. I do not need this crap."

Or, more actually, decided: "I" do not exist, so "I" do not need all this crap.

All existence is suffering

@farah "Siddhartha thought that neither the extreme luxury of his palace life nor the extreme asceticism of his meditative life had brought him enlightenment. He realised that he needed to preserve his life and nourish his body, if he was to continue his quest for enlightenment. Rejecting both extreme pleasure and extreme denial, he took up ‘the middle path’. "
