@EUCommission This is all nice and dandy, but you do realize that one of the signatories of this CoC is LinkedIn who just purged misgendering from their violations list? So much for gender based discrimination and rights of queer people.
And at the same time we're looking into weakening digital rights which are crucial to protect us, where a CoC does not. Of course, the EU is complicated and it's only natural that not all actions are consistent. But I just can't feel good about this change, when the important things get worse.

if it is to exist, the eu should use its means facilitate the formation of international collaborative worker councils in every work place, with no respect for the ones listed as the owners of those workplaces

Protection against discrimination is a freedom right. So are strong privacy protection, the existing GDPR, and safeguards against the looming mass surveillance, e. g. chat control disguised as protection of minors.
The Digital Omnibus has the power to wreck freedoms we are enjoying today. Don't throw them under the bus.
We're not suspects - we are free citizens. But what we hear and read from Brussels now, is raising serious suspicion about your intentions.

Strong digital privacy protections are also protecting people against discrimination. Please keep that in mind when you will present your Digital Omnibus in a few days.

For a society that protects the most vulnerable, the GDPR should be strengthened, not weakened, and private communications should remain private, free from scanning.

Like crippling the GDPR in favour of AI leaches!
Or implementing requiring spying tools on our electronic devices to watch over our shoulders with all we do, just under the guise of 'protecting' children.
Or infringing on our privacy by requiring an age check, basically requiring to fully disclose our identity and personal details to companies. Also under the guise of protecting minors!
@Em0nM4stodon Exactly this; which is why, as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, the EU's insistent push for #ChatControl, to end encryption in electronic communications, makes my blood run cold. It's horrifying.
