The community in Waikato has taken a bold step to ban bottom trawling and other damaging fishing methods in most of the coastal area around them. 🌊 💪

But of course now the greedy fishing industry lobby has announced they will try to stop the regional council's decision to continue unrestricted profiting off ocean destruction. 🐟

We stand in solidarity with mana whenua, local leaders, scientists and environmental advocates that want to protect the ocean for everyone. 🌏
