I was unable to sleep and my brain started reflecting on how much implicit skill was required to set up my Android tablet to talk to my Miniflux server.

At that time, I felt like it was a smooth experience and I didn't even realize the friction involved until two days later.

I'll update the wiki page later, but here's a first draft of my attempt at explaining how to do this to someone who doesn't need to know what an API is.

Note: How I set up Miniflux feeds on my Android tablet

I installed Miniflux on my FreedomBox. It provides a web app to read RSS feeds in the browser. That's working well. Now I want the convenience of reading feeds on my tablet. The sheer number of things I did here without even thinking about it:

1. Generate an API key
2. QR encode the key
3. Remembering to not store it in shell history
4. Knowing to scan the QR code and copy-paste the API key
5. Knowing how to find the software version and not getting confused with other version numbers on the same page.

Maybe some more steps can be identified if somebody who doesn't know this system uses it, like a typical office worker who uses a computer everyday. :blobthink:
