@CatherineBabault those are wonderful photos, Catherine.

Do you adjust the F-stop by seeing the bouquet in the view finder, or do you just select an F-stop based on experience from similar situations?

I would really like to be able to see the bouquet effect when taking the photo, but that is hard for me with the tiny view finder of my Sony A7iv. So usually I take multiple photos with different F-stop settings, hoping to get lucky. Not an efficient way of working.

@randahl Thank you very much, Randahl.

I adjust my settings prior to taking a photo based on what I have in mind. I tend to use a big aperture, usually around F5.6 for a shorter depth of field and a more intimate portrait of nature or wildlife.
I always check the result on the screen on the back of my camera and adjust my settings accordingly.
For this shot I used a Canon 5 DS R with a 100-400 mm lens, with an aperture of F5.6.

@CatherineBabault that makes sense. I will make sure to look at screen specs for the next camera I buy. The screen on the Sony A7iv is simply not bright enough for viewing outside.

Thanks for the tip.

@randahl You probably already know this but if you wish to review your images on the LCD screen, go to Camera Settings 2 / Display Auto Review 1 (page 6/9), scroll down to Finder / Monitor, press OK, select Monitor (Manual) and press OK.

To adjust the brightness of the LCD screen, go to Setup Meny 1 (page 1/7), select Monitor Brightness, choose Manual or Sunny Weather. If you've chosen Manual, adjust teh brightness +2 levels, press OK.

I find it easier to check on the screen than viewfinder.

@CatherineBabault it has been years since I set it up, so I should probably check the settings to make sure. Thanks for the tip.
