I really like that I’m at the point in my home cooking journey where i can easily whip up 3 dishes in any combination of Chinese / Japanese / Korean / Thai / Malaysian / Indonesian food without needing to get extra stuff (I always have ingredients for these cuisines) and without having to plan or look at anything. To be able to cook my fave home foods is a blessing

This is also why I’m extremely judgemental of most restaurants in these categories here in San Francisco. So many of them are doing the bare minimum, no better than my own home cooking. The good ones can be really really good even great, but there are vanishingly few of those in the city (more in Oakland and Fremont and Millbrae)
