Brownsville Concert Aids Granowsky, Jewish Writer

Members of the theatrical profession banded together last night at the Hebrew Educational Society, Hopkinson and Sutter Aves., to ald a kindred spirit鈥攁 writer. A concert was staged and several hundred dollars raised for the benefit of Rubin Granowsky, who can now proceed to write his book, to be titled "Characteristics of Jewish Writers."

Mr. Granowsky presented the following singers: Florence Weiss, Vera Rozanko, Cantor Israel Breeh, Moshe Osher, Anna Stromberg and Misha Rapel. In addition Zahava and Katie Okryenetz, an eight year-old child, danced.

Abraham Rasen was the guest speaker and delivered a talk on Jewish writers, stressing particularly the contributions Mr. Granowsky hopes to make.

Israel Rosenberg was chairman. Assisting on the committee of arrangements were Dr. A. A. Golden, Levi Goldberg, L. Zanust, Isaac Liebman, B. J. Klein, Dr. A. L. Schwartzberg, H. Radoshitsky and Dr M. Sorgin
