😅 U.S. Army Soldiers Can't Bring Their Tesla Cybertrucks to Germany

「 Why did the German government deny the Army's request? It turns out there are several reasons—and most of them relate to safety. According to the release, the regulator flagged the truck's sharp-edged body and massive curb weight as violations of passive safety rules designed to protect vulnerable road users like cyclists, pedestrians, and motorcyclists 」

@jbz they simply don’t satisfy any of the construction and use regulations in Europe.
Neither do these 1.5 ton mammoth pick ups, because they are exempt from the regulations in the USA. Vehicles over 1.5 tons in the US do not have to have crash testing, safety testing, crumple zones, anti-roll testing or fuel consumption controls.
They are 1950s technology in a fancy wrapper.

Too dangerous for European roads.

@jbz The reason given might be safety concerns, but the reason is that he'll be tagged with anti-Fascist messages the moment they are off the base.

@jbz Which is why the US insisted on accepting their cars into the EU in the recent trade "agreement". Blackmail and oligarchy all around.

@jbz

The Ford Lightning is substantially taller and longer, but roughly the same width, and yet still ends up being 300kgs lighter than the 3000kg CyberToaster.

Still far off of the Hummer's 4300kgs though. I wonder if they're allowed over?

It's the same in the UK, Australia, NZ and probably most of Europe. Cybertrucks are verboten because they're overweight, have sharp edges and they're downright ugly.

They're strictly for North American Musk fanbois.

@deepmud @jbz in stock form they are prohibited in a lot of European countries (including the UK), - the few that do get imported would have to be modified to appropriate safety standards and individually approved (already someone in England got theirs seized for trying to drive it in public highway)
