My #fediforum #lcf2025 crossover is going to be chaotic for me but ultimately so cool. My first workshop session is the Climate Misinformation Fishbowl and Workshop.
It occurs to me that we need to grab on to the #Fediwall client and pretty it up (marketing wise, not necessarily UX) and start letting orgs and agencies open a view (“the fishbowl”) into their own curated fediverse.
I’m setting up a #climate and #sustainability focused wall to show off this next hour.
Damn, someone out there needs to #fedihire me so I can pay my kid’s bills while running around the world tripping into these intersections. I had no idea when I redeyed out here and found an old friend with a spare bunk, this is amazing.

I am. But the organization has no money for salary and benefits much less for supporting my graduate degree.
The exact structure of the compensation for work is not the problem. The problem is that people who could greatly benefit from FOSS projects think “free” means “of no value” thus I should just volunteer strategy and planning work as I’m not qualified or certified by anything.
