Micro SF/F by O. Westin

On every interactive internet-connected device around the world, a question came up in the user's preferred language:

"Do you agree or disagree with the proposition that it is morally wrong to claim you can own the body of another sentient being?"

I'm really curious to see the result of that poll.

@MicroSFF Do we count those who WANT to be owned to some degree or another? I mean, consensual relationships exist in all kinds of different forms...

@MicroSFF From a user experience perspective: that question is too complicated (as in, the wording of the question is too complicated)

Blimey. I suppose someone's preferred language might be gobbledegook but that is NOT how to word a question

@MicroSFF Is the hardware the body and the software the mind?

@MicroSFF I think it would very much depend on the wording of that question. If you use more euphemism like "Do you think it is ethical for someone you provide all their food and housing to do whatever you require of them until such a time as you let someone else take care of them instead?" And a whole lot more people would say yes. Whereas say it more like "is it ethical to own slaves?" And there would be fewer people who would say yes.
