"A large federally-funded study coming out of [US]America, published in Nature, 'marijuana users have enhanced cognitive abilities' ... [they] analysed brain imaging and cognitive data, from 37929 people. The cannabis consumers consistently outperformed the non-users in the cognitive tests. They had brain network characteristics typically associated with younger brains."

There was this study a couple of years ago, claiming the grey / gray matter of the brain increases due to cannabis consumption. (May be limited to teenagers at a certain age, I don't remember completely.)

The press: "A gray veil will settle on the mental activity of our kids!"

Me: "Wait, isn't the gray matter the stuff, we are thinking with?"

Things would be better if more tried this.

Imagine a society where adult cannabis use was normal and common, and drinking alcohol (a neurotoxic solvent with no safe dose) was a fringe activity, like drinking meths or sniffing glue. All those people entering middle age with "enhanced cognitive abilities', instead of low-level brain damage (at best).

Maybe that's why Boomers seems so inscrutable to Millennials? The balance of recreational drug use swung wildly away from heavy alcohol use for their generation. Which for Boomers was practically required as evidence of adulthood.
