Lights are going out across the Net for UK users.

Age verification is driving sites to shut down, geo-block the UK or restrict features and content.

In trying to tackle to worst of the Net, it's harming the best.

@david_colquhoun @openrightsgroup @jim It just doesn't work. If a site asks you to provide ID to prove your age, anyone (even a child) can submit a fake one. But plenty of less tech-savvy users will simply provide their passport etc., which malicious sites can exploit (and legitimate sites might leak). If anything, the only people this helps are criminals.
