European Commission
@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu  ·  activity timestamp 3 months ago

In these turbulent times, we need predictability so our companies can plan and invest.

With the EU-US deal, we're securing access to our largest export market.

@EUCommission when dealing with bullies, financial security is not the main driver of a secure life. Once you have succumbed to the power dynamic you have to worry about all kinds of other security. And that carries it's own costs, too , starting with euroos.
Please let somebody do the bargaining next time that understands power handling, or has principles ( and a backbone).

@EUCommission The 600 bn of investments should be used to buy US farms, they are collapsing because their workers get kidnapped anyway and probably will go cheap.
(Or spend 500 bn on buying Netflix, to endure more European productions there)

@EUCommission I think I'm with the French on this one - the deal is a capitulation to Trump/Putin, it's a direction that will end badly for Europe.

Consider producing less for export and paper gains in the financial system, produce more for the real benefit of non-wealthy European citizens.

@EUCommission You and the EU Commission are clearly living in a fantasy World!

If there is anything in a deal with the Orange Cheeto toddler with a tantrum, it's definitely not stability.

I can only say I'm utterly ashamed for the weak leadership - actually you are an insult to what leadership is supposed to be - you have shown over the last month.

But, maybe you can ask "daddy" to wipe your butts!

@EUCommission This deal was a trap and you fell into it.
Signing that deal is not a sign of a strong European leadership, it's an act of allegiance to the US.
You're dragging the UE down to the bottom of the pit.
You should feel shameful and apologize to European citizens instead of bragging about that deal.

@EUCommission Absolute rubbish. You've given in to a bully. A fascist bully. This is an embarrassment for everyone in the EU.

What's more, this "deal" doesn't even help most businesses. For example, my own small business (https://www.dutchbikebits.com) has already lost pretty much all sales to the US because of the uncertainty and extra costs created by Trump and those problems will still remain even after this supposed deal.

The EU has made a *huge* mistake.

@EUCommission as a loyal citizen of the EU I would really like to hear why we’re re-securing access to our largest export market and how we intend to maintain access with low predictability and reliability of trading partners for the foreseeable future. I don’t see how this „deal“ addresses this issue. It was also not at all a „good look“ for the EU. I have a suspicion that we have been sold short and would like to know more about why and who.

The fuck you did. What is not only predictable but happening right now is climate collapse. You committed to fuel this even more for the sake of short term „predictability“ for companies. By making Deals with parties that aren‘t going to be predictable either.

Policymakets like you are at the very core of the problem, so please put your poor short sighted explanations where the sun doesn‘t shine.

@EUCommission Why EU was built at the 1st place? For peace. We ended up with a marketplace and no security. And now our defense is in the US hands, our economy, too. Did we resign our sovereignty for this? Definitely not. We the people want EU strong and brave. Not a puppet. Stand up for our interests!
