@aetataureate There exist payment processors that process "high-risk" or adult content. They have their own relationships with visa/mastercard. They just tend to charge significantly more in fees.
When you have a centralized site, payment processors judge you by the content across the site. That is, if you have ANY NSFW on your site, you end up having to use a nsfw processor for ALL of your content, which is kind of a non-starter for sfw creators.
By decentralizing payments such that only individual, tiny sites hook up with nsfw payment processors, and by further making it so each of those individual sites has THEIR OWN relationship with a payment processor, you make it so instead of taking down a whole platform, the best an organization like those Australian TERFs can do is play whack-a-mole with a bunch of tiny sites, and make individual requests to a number of different payment processors related to a bunch of different accounts... and no one else is affected in the process.
