#Bitcoin should've be ephemeral to encourage use as currency, discourage hoarding, and discourage middlemen like exchanges.
Something like for every block added to the chain since your wallet's last transaction you owe 100 satoshi/bitcoin in your wallet. Wallets + nodes will track & enforce this tax and will refuse transactions which try to spend taxed satoshi.
Every 210000 blocks the system scans the blockchain to calculate the tax "collected". The new reward for mining a block will be the usual halving reward + (tax/210000), thereby returning these taxed bitcoin back into circulation.
There is no need to record this tax as an actual transaction bc it's a function of the way the nodes operate and keep the ledger.
You could even make the taxed amount variable eg: recalculated every 210000 blocks (~14 days) and raised the tax if there were fewer transaction than the previous 210000 blocks and lowered if there were at least 10% more this time.
This tax will also slowly eat away at any lost or forgotten bitcoin, until the wallet they were in are empty.

You can literally do all your business however you want and then on "tax day", you sell whatever you used to buy the amount of currency in the form you need to pay your taxes.
For example, you could get paid in bitcoin or buy in bitcoin and do your accounting and at the end of the month, you sell the amount of bitcoin you need at whatever market rate to buy the exact amount needed to pay your taxes

#ESETResearch has discovered the first known AI-powered ransomware, which we named #PromptLock. The PromptLock malware uses the gpt-oss:20b model from OpenAI locally via the Ollama API to generate malicious Lua scripts on the fly, which it then executes.
PromptLock leverages Lua scripts generated from hard-coded prompts to enumerate the local filesystem, inspect target files, exfiltrate selected data, and perform encryption. These Lua scripts are cross-platform compatible, functioning on #Windows, #Linux, and #macOS.
Based on the detected user files, the malware may exfiltrate data, encrypt it, or potentially destroy it. Although the destruction functionality appears to be not yet implemented. #Bitcoin address used in the prompt appears to belong to Bitcoin creator https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satoshi_Nakamoto
For its file encryption mechanism, the PromptLock ransomware utilizes the SPECK 128-bit encryption algorithm.
Although multiple indicators suggest the sample is a proof-of-concept (PoC) or work-in-progress rather than fully operational malware deployed in the wild, we believe it is our responsibility to inform the cybersecurity community about such developments.
The PromptLock ransomware is written in #Golang, and we have identified both Windows and Linux variants uploaded to VirusTotal. IoCs:
