A reminder the RFF directory of artists lives on and continues to grow at https://indieart.support/

It is the biggest consented list of fedi present artists around. Discover music, writing, spoken, and visual artists and THEIR preferred support links.

While original scope was heavily music and fedi, that is expanding more and more.

Message @hello or e-mail to be added. It's not automated as #community care is taken to not platform those who punch down.

RFF never judged or harassed artists for their support and other links or their dominant license. We passed them along with every track played because SUPPORT INDEPENDENT ARTISTS and facilitate consent, good communication and collaboration.

While we personally may not like a thing we can certainly advocate for spaces and platforms that might provide more agency/safety for artists and friends IF ASKED,.

Otherwise we must do our best to meet artists where they need to be or can manage to be.

There's always bad things with most platforms. Recognise the artists prolly agree.

But also realise it is yet another unpaid, time consuming, and frankly exhausting job to constantly hop platforms and we can never all know ALL the things about every space. That keeps us from doing the creative thing we need or want to do in the first place.

Drop a kind word, materially support as directly as you can even with the "bad" processors. Help make more art happen and stay vertical out there.

@radiofreefedi A lot of issues I'm encountering is less the platform itself, so much as other issues.

Ex. Suppose you wrote a song with one title, even if its in another language: if it remotely translates to the same thing in another language, those people keep pressuring you to change the title.

The catch being: they keep changing their title so you never can claim ownership. So it becomes an endless way to never publish a thing.
