This afternoon I went for a walk in the snow, in the Pentlands - from Flotterstone to Bonaly. About 5 miles. The road from Flotterstone was busy - and very icy - but once the path headed into the hills, walking in the snow was wonderful. And hardly a soul out.
The weather was beautiful - perfect winter walking weather. Cold but wonderfully sunny.

A stunning afternoon in the hills!

A landscape-oriented colour photograph of snow covered hills beneath a crystal-clear blue sky.

The snowy slope of Capelaw Hill in the Pentlands is at the left of the picture. The line of a fence rises from the centre at the bottom and curves through the snow until it crosses the slope when it disappears.

Behind the slope, to the right, the steep Allermuir Hill can be seen, partly in shadow as the bright sun shines from the south.

The half-moon can be seen in the sky to the left of the picture.
