One year and 4 days since disappearing without trace, Katu’s home!
I posted a reminder photo on the local FB notice board, just in case someone had taken her in. A lady recognised her as a stray her brother (17km away) was feeding, put us in touch….and I brought her home this afternoon.
She’s delighted to be home, has been velcroed to my lap all afternoon, and I’m the happiest man in West Cork tonight 😻😻😻

Now I have to explain to her about the 3 cats we rescued last year, who are now living in the house. And the 4 strays in the cabin… Katu was always very territorial, this is going to take some management.
She’s just been to see the vet, came home with antibiotics for a chest infection, there’s some old damage to her tail (possibly from the attack that scared her away?), but otherwise ok. And she’s been well fed recently!
I slept in the spare room with her last night in case she was distressed by her new surroundings and being closed in - not a bit, she climbed onto the bed, snuggled into my side, and we slept like that all night.
