I was a little under the weather yesterday morning, and sat watching the dog play in our backyard. Noticed a couple of pretty things

An egg-yolk yellow kerria blossom, looking like a little rose, opens along a greenleafless branch. A couple of yellow flower buds are behind it on the branch. The backyard fence catches a little light and shadow in the background.

Bright purple crocus flowers sport orange stamens. Strappy crocus leaves poke up through the chesnut tree leaves, alongside a few old, prickly chestnut burs. Everything is liberally sprinkled with early morning raindrops.
