Fascinating response I got from Susan Collins today in response to an email contact recently on the topic of Trump/Gestapo @indivisibleteam @heidilifeldman

Dear John,

Thank you for contacting me to express your concerns regarding the Trump Administration.  I appreciate your taking the time to do so, and I have noted your support for impeaching President Trump.

The Constitution gives the House of Representatives the exclusive power to launch impeachment proceedings, while the Senate has the sole power to try all impeachments.  To date, the House has not launched an impeachment inquiry relating to President Trump’s second term.  Should the House adopt articles of impeachment and send them to the Senate, I will keep your views in mind.

Again, thank you for contacting me.

Sincerely,

Susan M. Collins
