I just discovered it is National Bird Day today! Here's a photo of an Oriental Greenfinch, taken along the Shukugawa river in Nishinomiya, Japan.

Bird on a tree branch. Head is gray/green with hints of yellow. The back is brown, and the chest/belly is a lighter shade of brown. The wings are black, white, and bright yellow. The face is black and the beak is short and thick, and a light pink color. There are some small seed shells stuck on the beak. The bird is in profile, facing to the left. There are a couple other blurry branches in the frame, and the background is blurry shades of green, white, gray and brown.
