just after the mummy transforms into an alien, some guy yells 'shoot it.' either another guy or the same guy runs in front of the cop and gets shot in the arm. either a third guy, the second guy if there was one, or the first guy pulls the cop's shooting arm down. then the wounded guy, whoever he is, reaches up to grab the mummy/alien's hand and then he's gone i guess!
