2 days ago, I escaped the fog in #Vienna. In the Alps, the sky was bright blue. I climbed the very exposed Haid-Steig #ViaFerrata with 420 m EG. The start is at 1,400 m. Towards the end, it became dangerous in an unsecured passage without any handholds; one slip and I would have been in the valley faster than I would have liked. The most interesting passage led through a long, deep crack. In the first picture, you can see a 15-m ladder leading there.
Looking back at the 420-meter-high rock face with the via ferrata in the evening light. Down in the valley, an endless sea of clouds. Bright blue sky, the moon has risen.
On a rocky outcrop, a dark brown chamois peeks out at me from behind a tree, looking somehow very sweet. More mountains in the background. Blue sky, but slightly hazy in the evening sun.
Exit on a mountain plateau at 1,800 meters. On the right side, a sea of green bushes. Otherwise, lots of snow and rocks. In the background, a high, wide rock face.
A rock face, about 50 meters high. In the middle, a deep crack. At the bottom, a yellowish traverse, from which a 15-meter ladder leads up to the crack. Bright blue sky.
