Well, I woke up Sunday morning
With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad
So I had one more for dessert
Then I fumbled through my closet for my clothes
And found my cleanest dirty shirt
And I shaved my face and combed my hair
And stumbled down the stairs to meet the day
—Kris Kristofferson

Good morning from Minneapolis.

Quite early Sunday morning it's 17℉; overcast skies; fair barometer; light winds; visibility 10 miles at the airport.

- Today through Tuesday, temperatures warm each day, with highs in the 40s by Tuesday.

Back in the day, when we still watched broadcast television, we'd revel in seeing the seed corn, soybean, and fertilizer ads, in the promise that spring was on the way.

We've written off this winter.

Pepper, the black, tan, and white Australian kelpie we borrow from friends, surveys the countryside from a snow field imprinted with many footprints of man and beast.

Good morning from Minneapolis, where we've clawed our way to Friday.

We've a brief and welcome break from the fog and the rain. Quite early Friday morning it's 27℉; partly sunny; visibility 10 miles at the airport.

Minneapolis Park Board: "Dogs must be on leash."

Pepper:

NORTHERN LIGHTS ALERT:

We are seeing the cloud cover over the #Northland #clearing from west to east, so the #NorthernLights will be visible for most of us over the next several hours.

Here's a preview of what they may look like, courtesy of Scott Gordon. He's in Mesquite, #Nevada.

The satellite over the Northland at 8:10 p.m. on November 11, 2025, shows clearing skies working their way from west to east across the region. This should allow the Northern Lights to be seen for most of us in the Northland later tonight.
