As of today, the community members monitoring #TerminalIsland released a statement saying #CBP seems to have stopped staging there, so they're not going to send people out every morning any more

ICE is still in LA but tactics and geographies seem to be shifting...

#ICE #PortOfLA #LosAngeles #port #HarborAreaPeacePatrol

We want to take a minute to update our community. In the past week, we have seen a dramatic drop in sightings and kidnappings across Los Angeles. This has correlated to a decrease in activity from Terminal Island, and no BOLOs from this organization.

We have credible reports that ICE/CBP has demobilized from the Coast Guard base on Terminal Island. While we are awaiting final confirmation, we are claiming this as a tentative victory for the people of Harbor Area. For eight straight months, community members have put their boots on the ground to observe and document agents leaving Terminal Island. We have been there in the heat and the pouring rain. We were there on Christmas Day and many birthdays. Even when people were being kidnapped and killed for their activism, our numbers continued to grow. DHS should know that we will not be defeated -- that if they come back, or if they attempt to turn the prison into an ICE detention facility, we will be here. We have demonstrated our determination and our resilience over and over and over again.

To the people of Los Angeles -- we love you. The community patrols will continue, and we will continue to stay vigilant in our communities. We love you more than we love the Olympics, more than we love our own comfort and privilege, and more than we love sleep. HAPP is not going anywhere because there's nowhere to go -- this is our home, and we will defend it and our people forever.

A social media post from ILWU Local 23
showing stacked shipping containers, mostly green, but the red ones spell out "renee"

Text reads: "A powerful message of solidarity from our LA-Long Beach union siblings made its way through Tacoma today. RIP Renee Good & Alex Pretti"

"Nestled right in the heart of the nation’s busiest port, where stuff was shipped in from all over the world, was the force tasked with shipping people from all over the world out.

It was there that we were headed, call sign “TI”—Terminal Island.

This was the local ICE HQ"

"As soon as we started patrolling, we realized that the Port of LA played an important role in the raids... [CBP is using] a gated federal facility on Terminal Island that holds a penitentiary, a Coast Guard base and an old immigration processing center..."
