The Linda Lindas - "Racist, Sexist Boy" (Live at LA Public Library)
(impact not just for the song calling out racism and sexism but also great to see youthful confidence and great use of library as a gig space!)

That drum break, inspiring thousands of air drummers and highlighting the gated reverb that became a defining 80's sound
In The Air Tonight - Phil Collins (1981)
Gojira - Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça ira!)
(Olympic levels of impact!)
"7 Seconds" by Youssou N'Dour and Neneh Cherry
This was unexpected global hit from 1994, from Senegalese and Swedish musicians, sung in the West African language Wolof, French, and English.
From Wikipedia:
The title and refrain of the song refers to the first moments of a child's life; as Cherry put it, "not knowing about the problems and violence in our world". Shocked by the single's enormous commercial success, she told The Independent in an interview: "We did it as an experiment. The tune grew on its own, completely out of proportion. It was out there doing its own thing. But that is a dream when you write a song."
I rediscovered the song again recently. It still stands strong.
